ARLINGTON, VA. – Crown Consulting Inc. has named Corey Whittington director, aerospace strategy. In this role, he directs the development of the company’s strategy to further enhance its presence in various aerospace markets, with an emphasis on building partnerships with government, industry and academia.
Whittington is an advanced mobility and autonomous systems strategist with proven ability to develop go-to-market concepts and effectively manage teams supporting the implementation of innovative transportation technologies. He brings 16 years of professional experience, including nine as a Big 4 consultant, and track record of building and executing scalable advisory, SaaS and DaaS solutions for federal, state/local and commercial clients. He is also a U.S. Army air defense artillery (Patriot missile system) veteran.
“Corey brings a deep and diverse experience though multiple sectors of the aerospace community,” said Crown Vice President of Aerospace and Advanced Transportation Dr. Rubén Del Rosario. “His recent operational experience with uncrewed aircraft systems will be invaluable in continuing Crown’s leadership in advanced air mobility.”
Whittington’s recent project leadership in support of the Michigan Department of Transportation Aeronautics Commission’s UAS Feasibility Analysis led to the development of a statewide strategy for the safe integration of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System (NAS) and Michigan communities, including a first-of-its-kind, cross-border project between Windsor, Canada and Detroit. He supported several regional efforts to analyze and open airspace use for UAS to be safely demonstrated and adopted. He previously managed the support responsible for establishing the Transportation Security Administration’s counter-UAS testbed program, including opening the first operational testbed at Miami International Airport.
Whittington holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island. He is active in industry association groups and advocates for regulatory advancement of safely integrating autonomous systems into the NAS.
